Tomatokeftedes (Tomato Balls)

Ingredients

  • 3 large tomatoes
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 bunch of mint chopped
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Method

1. Cut the tomatoes in the middle. Remove the seeds and cut them in very small pieces on the grater. Pour the mixture out of the tomatoes into a fine drip and let it drain the fluids for an hour.
2. Empty the tomatoes in a bowl along with the rest of the ingredients and mix. The mixture must be thick. If not, add some flour yet. We do not put oil.
3. Heat the oil well in a non-stick pan. Take spoon spoonful the mixture and pour it into the hot oil.
4. We leave distances between them, because our mixture is inflated.
5. Fry until they are roasted on both sides.
6. We put them on kitchen towels to absorb the unnecessary oil and serve them.
